First questions of the summer: If you could attend a concert by any band or artist (living or dead) which one would you pick and why? Who would be the opening act? Tell me about your dream concert line-up.

i would go see elliott smith, who is one of the most talented musicians i have ever encountered. again and again i'm in awe of the music he has left us. and oh, tegan and sara would be a close second. i would only pick elliott smith over them because he can't really tour anymore, considering he is not living currently~

Elliott Smith was brilliant. I really regret not seeing him when I had the chance.
I have a friend who caught Tegan and Sara on the True Colors tour. She said it was a fabulous concert.
I would love to have seen the Sex Pistols in concert. I would have ended up bruised and battered but I bet it was a killer show.

New question: What's your favorite song? Why?

It would definitely have to be something by Steven Curtis Chapman, but I have no idea which song. With over 15 albums it is so hard to choose! If I had to choose though, I would probably choose Cinderella, Something Crazy, or Children of God, all off of his newest album, This Moment. (Can you tell I like his new album =])

Based on your rec, I'm going to have to pick up his latest album!

If your life was a tv show which song would you pick to be your theme song?

How important is music to your life?

Secondhand Serenade my all time favorite band has a concert this friday in san antonio that I'll be missing :(

I can't believe that Secondhand Serenade isn't playing Houston. We have so many clubs that you would think one of them would book them.

Is the CD dead or just pining for the fjords? (A virtual cookie if you can identify that reference.) Do you burn your mp3s to a CD to save them or just back them up on a regular basis? With MySpace and YouTube presenting new artists to the world, what is the future of music?

Myspace has definantly helped a lot of artist gain exposure I've found several bands that way. But the best way to find stuff that's similair to my taste, without surfing my friends myspace's is www.lastfm.com It's a radio kind of site that scrobbles what you listen to and profiles some of your taste. It also allows you to search for "Similar Artist" and listen to other songs that other users have "Tagged" as similar. It's a overall pretty cool site and totally free for a basic membership.

i can't narrow it down to one song, but i could name a few favorite. like "hot" by tender forever; "daniel cowman" by regina spektor; "not tonight" by tegan and sara; and "lover's spit" by broken social scene. and definitely get last.fm. it's /amazing/ for recommendations.
